My Biography

My name is Brittney Marie Kinoshita but most just call me Britt. I am 34 years old. My life… blessed is the most appropriate adjective I can think of to describe it. Whenever I couldn’t fall asleep when I was younger, my mom always used to tell me to try to count my blessings. Of course, I could never possibly do that which always ended up putting me right to sleep. Safe to say, my mom’s a smart woman. My family has been so supportive of my dream. Music is where my heart’s been all my life and I doubt that anything will ever change that. My parents have home videos of me at around age three singing my little heart out to “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”. I’ve been singing ever since I can remember. I learned to play the guitar when I was fourteen. It started as a jealousy thing when my mom got a guitar for her birthday. I ended up stealing it and haven’t been able to put it down since. I own a Taylor and it’s by far my most prized possession. If you ever get the chance, I encourage you to go to the Taylor Factory and take the free tour. It’s absolutely amazing how those things are made. Another amazing place is Signature Sound in San Diego where I recorded my debut "Emerge". That whole experience was priceless. I’m so fortunate to have been able to be a part of something like that at such a young age. I love to perform for people. It’s my absolute favorite feeling in the whole world to bring a smile to a face that was once frowning or bring a tear to someone's eye. I believe that I was put on this earth to have God speak/sing through me and touch peoples' hearts. My goal in life is to bring as many hearts to the Lord through my music as I can. My songwriting inspiration comes from my everyday life and from God. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a BA in music. I got married on September 10th, 2016 to Bradley Alan Kinoshita, who is and always will be my other half, #1 fan and greatest blessing... besides our two beautiful boys & one wonderful girl; Malakai, Mason and Maile. Being a mother is my greatest joy in life and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm excited for the future and taking in each day of the present.

I am thrilled to have released a second album! "Right Where You Are" is an album that encompasses the past few years of my life and shows who Jesus has become to me. The main theme on the album is love and the joys and pains that accompany it. I think "Right Where You Are" is a compilation of emotions and thoughts that are provoking, humbling and filling at the same time.

Who am I? ….I’m a very open and honest person. I don’t like to beat around the bush and I’m not into playing games… except board games, those are fun! I love to laugh till I cry and family get-togethers are usually the place where that happens. I’m definitely a summer girl – beach, sun dresses, tan skin, trampolines, watermelon, you name it. I love to work out and eat healthy, most of the time. I enjoy challenges, mentally and physically and I am very competitive. I tend to over-think things a lot but my heart always ends up leading the way in most situations in my life. I find more joy in giving than I do in receiving. I can fake cry within 30 seconds, but my record is 21. I’m 5’7. I’m a bit of a neat freak/health freak. Sweet peas are my favorite flower and winks make my heart skip a beat. I love to tan and listen to nature. I’m continually amazed by God’s love and creativeness. I am so excited to meet Him one day. If you’ve read all the way to here, you’re a trooper and I commend you for that. I’m sure there was something else you could’ve done for the past couple minutes. So to you, or anyone else who has spent a couple minutes with me in some way - listening to a song or coming to one of my gigs - thank you. You really mean the world to me.

Britt

“”The Kauai music scene is amazing. On any given night, you can always find somewhere near you that has a local musician playing. Whether it be a Jazz Guitarist playing at your favorite restaurant, a Surf Rock Duo rocking the house at a bar down in Lihue, or an amazing young vocalist, like Britt Kinoshita, performing at your hotel in Poipu.

People just can't get enough of Britt. Every time she sings, people stop doing whatever it is they are doing, and sit, dumbfounded at this 26-year old’s voice. Her style is a blend of sweet acoustic melodies and jazzy grooves. Her creativity is encouraged by other songwriters such as John Mayer, Colbie Caillat, and Eva Cassidy.

Britt has been singing since she could talk, belting out the words to “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” while her parents videotaped, knowing her passion right from the start. She also learned to play the guitar at age 14, when her mom got one for her birthday, which Britt ended up stealing and calling her own (as daughters will do).

Britt has written over 40 songs, some of which can be found on both her albums, Emerge & Right Where You Are.

You can find Britt performing all around the island of Kauai more and more as word gets out what an amazing talent we have on our island.""
